Laser Hair Removal

The short wave method of electrolysis is utilized in the practice.  Disposable probes and sterilized equipment as well as latex free gloves are used during the procedure.

Procedure – The area to be treated will be cleaned.  A fine probe is inserted into the natural opening of each hair follicle and a measured amount of electrical current is directed to the base of the hair follicle.  This procedure also disables the hair follicle.

Not all clients are candidates for laser hair removal because the hair doesn’t have enough pigment or the client only wants a small amount of hair removed.  In these cases, electrolysis is offered.  Electrolysis can also be used after laser treatments for the straggler hairs that laser didn’t destroy.

Both modalities of hair removal are effective for removing hair permanently.   Please remember that South Shore Hair Removal specializes in permanent hair removal and Robin will be the only professional you will need to see.

Robin’s practice utilizes the Cutera Coolglide laser which is able to treat all Skin Types from light to dark, including tanned clients.  Its unique design, longer wavelength and innovative cooling design allows for very effective and comfortable treatments.

Procedure – The area to be treated will be cleaned and shaved. The reason for shaving the hair to the surface is so that the laser energy will be absorbed at the hair follicle bulb (under the surface of the skin) which in turn disables the follicle. Protective eyewear will be worn by the client during the treatment. The laser hand piece glides over the surface of the skin and emits the laser.  Many hair follicles can be disabled during a treatment.
